NSW Country u18's State Titles Abandoned
5 Jul by Brad Donald
After a lot of discussion, it is with great regret that the CLSC has had to abandon this year’s U18’s Country State title Event.
As we know mother nature has impacted prior efforts to host the tournament. With winter ball seasons getting toward the business end and Senior Country Men’s Championship in early August, we have had to make the decision to not hold the 2024 u18 State Titles.
In lieu of that tournament, the CLSC in consultation with the u18 Head Coach, Ian Hook, have agreed to place a ‘development’ team in the Senior Country Men’s Championship ‘A’ division, to be held at BISP over the period 2-4 August, 2024.
Ian has reached out to head coaches of teams nominated in this years u18 Championship, reviewed previous years AYC events and selected a team of 22 to represent in that tournament. Those that have been selected will be notified in due course.
When the Country Men’s Championship is concluded, a further ‘trial’ date will be held for those that may not have been selected or unavailable to play in the development squad. That date and venue will be provided.
The CLSC apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused, but factors clearly outside our control have impacted our decision, in addition to not wanting to affect club ball which has also suffered from the unstable weather patterns this season.
CLSC.
